Exercise & Sports Scientist Fiona Leard is a former Registered Nurse, with Certifications in Yoga, Pilates and AntiGravity® Fitness, and has always had a passion for health, wellness and enhancing human performance. She enjoys blending yoga, Pilates and AntiGravity® Fitness with the science of sport and exercise, to unlock the full potential of the mind and body, and assist students in fulfilling their life’s goals.
She works one-to-one as a Personal Trainer with numerous clients including athletes, busy professionals and everyday people looking to increase fitness and vitality, or reduce pain and improve function in the body. And currently teaches online Yoga classes and likes to challenge her students whilst having some fun.
Fiona has worked with professional and elite athletes and sports teams since 2004 introducing yoga, Pilates and AntiGravity® to their training programs to boost athletic performance and prolong their competitive careers. She is the author of two books incorporating the yoga and AntiGravity® programs she has used with Professional Footballers with great success. Her books are THE YOGA EDGE: Techniques to Maximize Your Soccer Game (with Foreword by Coach Tony Popovic) & 40 ESSENTIAL SOCCER STRETCHES: Warm-up and Cool-down with Yoga (with Foreword by Coach John Aloisi).
Fiona lectured Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness, Diploma of Fitness, and Yoga Teacher Training programs in Australia for 10yrs. She’s currently the AntiGravity® Instructor Trainer in Sydney teaching new instructors the Fundamentals of AntiGravity Teaching. She is a certified Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga Teacher, and completed Yin training with Paul and Suzee Grilley.
